Axxonsoft PSIM Intellect makes Turin a safer city

Deployment of the Safe City project

The project was divided into two stages. The first included the implementation of a video surveillance solution in the key areas specified by the client.

The second involved a public-private partnership in which private surveillance systems could be connected (from retail stores, production facilities, various institutions and individuals) to a publicly owned video surveillance network.

The Physical Security Information Management System (PSIM) Intellect provides video surveillance with visible light and thermal cameras; Video analytics with object tracking and motion heatmaps; Face Intellect for facial recognition; and Auto Intellect for traffic safety.

Servers and storage are located in Milan, in a server cluster of a telecommunications provider. A thousand cameras were installed and 50 remote workstations in Turin, with a command center at the city police headquarters.

To facilitate night surveillance, an automatic alarm notification system was introduced, which includes thermal cameras, fixed lights and speakers.
