LDA at Katara Hills Gardens

The Katara Cultural Village project incorporates public address systems and voice evacuation of LDA Audio Tech providing great intelligibility and audio coverage even outdoors

The Qatar peninsula has an ancestral legacy that dates back to the beginning of human history. One of its first denominations was 'Catara' and this name serves as a tribute in the denomination of the project Katara Cultural Village. It is a large tourist village for cultural exchange that has theaters, Concert halls, exhibition galleries and cultural facilities to highlight Qatar's heritage and traditions.

LDA at Katara Hills GardensWithin this great project are the Katara Hills Gardens, Gardens with more than 600.000 square meters, that house plants and trees from different countries and continents and that represent an authentic oasis of cultures to celebrate art, Creativity and talent.

These gardens also house paths for sports and outdoor recreation areas. To provide these large open spaces with a reliable public address and voice evacuation system, those responsible for Katara Hills have relied on LDA Audio Tech and its certified systems EN 54.

The installation had to provide maximum audio coverage at optimal levels, for the comfort of walkers and users; Ensure uniform distribution of music and public address announcements throughout the park, to overcome the existing unevenness of terrain and the gusts of strong wind that sometimes occur; and provide security and reliability to the system, so it can work properly in any situation, especially in case of emergency.

LDA at Katara Hills GardensTo meet park requirements, LDA Audio Tech carried out an acoustic study with Ease with a complete simulation of all the areas to be covered. Thus, it was possible to identify the key points according to the topographic and environmental characteristics of the terrain., essential to be able to design the most suitable audio system.

LDA Audio Tech configured an installation with eight large differentiated areas that work centrally, via a NEO-8060 main controller, EN certificate 54-16, providing all advanced management functionalities, safety and maintenance you need Katara Hills.

NEO is managed from a workstation as a distributed audio system through a network interface that adjusts 100% to the Dante standard.

In addition to the main unit, systems installed by LDA in Katara Hills include an MPS-8Z microphone desk with MPS-8K expansion keyboard, one RCD-21R dual multifunction player with DVD/USB/SD and FM/AM radio, VCC-64 wall controllers for volume and channels, and VCC-64PSK communications and power adapters.

LDA at Katara Hills GardensFor speaker configuration, Policy columns have been chosen Renkus-Heinz ICL-F-Dual-RD-WR, that allow eight separate sound beams to be generated, digitally orientable, to cover all angles and reach a distance of 30 meters with full bandwidth (80 Hz– 20 Khz) and a sound pressure level (Spl) of 105 Db.

The columns have been customized with RAL color 8016 to blend in with the appearance of the trees and achieve total integration with the landscape.

LDA Audio Tech's NEO system meets UNE-EN requirements 60849:2002 and is also certified UNE-EN 54-16:2010. In addition, LDA has a complete range of EN54-24 certified speakers.

NEO provides great cost savings as it is a compact 'all-in-one' system with integrated Class D amplifiers, audio matrix, event scheduler and audio over Ethernet. The NEO system follows a plug philosophy&play and implements TCP/IP and Cobranet protocols, allowing it to integrate with other systems such as IP telephony, digital signage, AV intercom, Etc.
