A few weeks after its successful inauguration, The Hotel Pestana Plaza Mayor Madrid, located in the old Casa de la Carnicería and the fire station, has already become a benchmark, not only because of its special location in the center of the capital, but for incorporating the latest security technologies without altering the comfort of its guests and meeting the requirements of architectural protection demanded.

In this sense, those responsible for Pestana Group, based in Portugal, have trusted the professional audio specialist Sonotrack to respond to your needs in the field of security and sound of the various areas of the hotel, with a solution that integrates the evacuation system, in accordance with current regulations and protocols, with professional sound equipment reliably and efficiently.

blankThe integral solution provided to this project is formed by a voice evacuation system according to the EN standard 54, which corresponds to the Paviro model of Bosch, and a MusicCast system of Yamaha for operating areas, with sound areas to create different musical environments according to the stay (Reception, Salons, patio, bar and cafeteria, Etc).

The challenge of installing a professional audio system in this hotel has been addressed as follows, as explained from Sonotrack. When designing a voice evacuation system in compliance with the EN standard 54, in its sections 4 And 16, the purpose is that, together with the fire protection system, the public address system is an aid to evict a building following the established protocol in a fast and safe way.

blankIn principle, these systems are not designed to provide the sound performance of professional audio and musical environment, since these are evacuation systems. Have several music programs per stay, volume regulations, independent microphones and audios in meeting rooms etc., are functions that, although in an evacuation system they can be achieved, make the system require a greater investment and more difficulty in its installation, as they point out from Sonotrack.

blankFor this project, Sonotrack was asked to install professional audio systems in different rooms of the hotel, but that they will also be integrated with the evacuation system, with optimal sound quality as a prerequisite.

To respond to these needs and transmit different music to the different areas, Sonotrack opted for yamaha professional sound equipment, specifically by the MusicCast system, with header with four channels, combined with different types of speakers (amplifiers and outdoor, Etc.) and configured according to the requirements requested to create musical zones respectful of the evacuation system.

blankThat way, areas such as the hall, reception, the lounges (where it was also necessary to have microphones and independent audio inputs), the terrace, the pool and spa, among others, have simultaneously different musical environments, according to the experience and comfort that you want to transmit to the guest.

To avoid wiring deployment, and since when this project was carried out the work of the hotel was very advanced, those responsible for Sonotrack opted for a WiFi system, in addition to taking advantage of the existing network in the installation.
