The U.S. multinational Motorola Solutions, specialized in public safety and walkie-talkie communication systems, has signed an agreement to acquire Avigilon, Vancouver-based manufacturer of advanced surveillance solutions (Canada), per billion in cash, Approximately (including Avigilon's debt), to be completed in the second quarter of 2018.

"The video can play a powerful role in creating safer cities and thriving businesses," said Greg Brown, president and CEO of Motorola Solutions, in a communiqué. It can serve as 'eyes and ears’ highly efficient at monitoring a particular location, and advanced video analysis can proactively alert you to a perimeter breach or quickly find a person who left a suspicious object".

Avigilon control centerIn this sense, Avigilon designs, develops and manufactures advanced surveillance solutions, including video analysis, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras and access control solutions.

Its systems are present in numerous commercial and government facilities, including critical infrastructure, Airports, Banks, public premises, Etc. and has more than 750 international patents.
