Compatible for the first time with the H.264/Onvif industrial standard, this new line of devices 6 megapixels incorporate intelligent and flexible functions on the motherboard and camera software that open up new application possibilities.

Mx6's new line of video surveillance cameras Mobotix, rated as "the most powerful" developed by this manufacturer, is already in the serial manufacturing phase with M16 dual outdoor devices, D16, S16 and V16, that retain the design of the models still available in the x15 range, while its innovations are on the motherboard and camera software.

With 6 Megapixel, the Mx6 camera line uses a powerful new CPU that, with the same resolution, provides up to twice as many images per second. For example, in Full HD you reach up to 34 images per second, allowing for a better record of fast movements.

In addition to faster, Mx6 has greater capacity for software applications, such as 3D motion analysis and license plate recognition on the camera itself. This range provides simultaneous video data in up to three different formats: MxPEG, MJPEG and, for the first time, also in H.264, so that users can choose the most suitable codec for their use.

In addition, these new cameras now offer a number of classic Onvif, and full compatibility with this global and open standard will be achieved with one of the upcoming firmware updates. Thanks to RTSP/Multicast, mx6 range is more powerful and flexible, providing simultaneous access to the camera to many users without reducing the video frequency.

Oliver Gabel, CTO de Mobotix, explains that "the new camera system with H.264/Onvif opens up new possibilities for integration and application, both our partners and our end customers. Thanks to the new Dual Core processor architecture, we have the best processing capacity a Mobotix camera system has ever had; the highest video frequency; an intelligent 3D motion detection system and more capability for in-camera software applications".

Dual camera models D16 will be introduced to the market in the first phase, M16, S16 and V16, with a robust design and especially suitable for outdoor use. Thanks to the modular system with various lens and sensor options, these devices can be configured individually.

In its standard version, the M16 AllroundDual generates high-contrast videos in both color and b/n thanks to its two light-sensitive sensor modules, even in low-light conditions. Electronic switching between the system day and night is done automatically (no moving parts), with any temperature and weather condition.

The M16 Thermal camera equips a high-powered thermal imaging sensor that detects moving objects, even in total darkness, and it is possible to install a second optical sensor module at any time. With thermal radiometry (Tr) temperature events can be automatically triggered to detect heat or fire sources. Mobotix thermal cameras incorporate the 'thermal overlay' function (thermal overlay) to identify so-called hot spots or hotspots visibly in the image.

Thanks to the combination of dual modular sensor technology and FlexMount, the S16 FlexMount model covers two areas, while remaining virtually invisible. It is a DualDome camera with two image sensors, available in a fully modular way in standard version and with a 180-degree panoramic view. Mobotix plans to introduce single-lens models.
