Vivotek cameras blend in among the 'clouds' of the Mexican toy store Hamleys
A discreet solution was sought, that would merge with the decor of the environment so that children would not feel watched. With this objective, se han instalado 16 FE8181 and IB8369 cameras in the 800 square meters occupied by the store located in the Antara shopping center in Mexico City.
When thinking about the implementation of a video surveillance solution, often the aim is for the cameras to be visible to serve as a deterrent, but in other cases, discretion is the ally sought for implementation in certain businesses. This is the case of Hamleys, a toy store with more than 250 años de historia que atiende a un público muy selecto: los niños.
La tienda está decorada con nubes en todas las paredes, incluido el techo y el suelo, and the option was to place the cameras among these clouds. For this, the FE8181 model was used Vivotek, since its external design allows it to blend with the decoration and ensures that the little ones do not feel observed. In total 16 cameras cover the security of this establishment 800 square meters.
When making the proposal, we made a customized design with equipment that would adapt to the environment. While the cameras 360 are strategically located among the display gondolas, the bullet and varifocal type IB8369 was placed at the cash register and another monitors in detail what happens at the point of sale, comments Guillermo Martínez.
According to the security integrator, Siide Ingeniería, the project has provided the client's demands regarding what the video surveillance solution should offer: aesthetics, harmonious with the rest of the architectural infrastructure and responding to the challenge of implementing cameras in adverse conditions, such as opening a space in an already established shopping center and thinking about how to place not only the cameras, but also the rest of the infrastructure, cabling, NVR… all out of the visitor's view.
