Intertransit optimizes perimeter security and goods management with Instel through IP video surveillance
The international logistics operator Intertransit has entrusted the video surveillance and perimeter security project for its new warehouse, as well as the management of storage and goods to the engineering company Instel, which has chosen Axis technology to integrate the analog system into an IP video system.
La opción de Instel en este sentido fue la tecnología de videovigilancia IP del fabricante Axis Communications, which offered the innovation they needed in the migration from analog to digital and a wide portfolio of products.
for the control of the perimeter of the Intertransit facilities, two additional IP cameras were included along with the existing analog ones, while for the interior control of the premises, nine network cameras were installed to provide effective video surveillance of the access points and storage areas, since the existing analog cameras only offered a general view of this space.
The conversion from analog to IP technology is based on three Axis video servers, each with four inputs, in addition to providing the recording server infrastructure along with the Axis Camera Station software for managing the recordings.
Instel also deployed the structured cabling infrastructure necessary for the installation of the cameras, as well as the network electronics.
The benefits of the new IP video surveillance system have been evident for Intertransit, which, in addition to reinforcing the security of its facilities, has optimized process management for AEO certification, as well as having precise control over the goods that enter, are stored and leave its warehouse, as well as any incidents that occur.
As noted by Josep María Santos, technical director at Intertransit, Our needs as logistics operators with an international projection have been addressed through various technological projects coordinated with Instel very satisfactorily, which has allowed us to integrate effectively into the new and sophisticated demands of the market, such as security (OAS), control (ISO) and productivity improvement.
