Roberto Santos Stadium (Pituacu)The Independence Arena, in Belo Horizonte, another official training camp, monitors your surroundings using 18 Axis cameras whose high-definition images are displayed in a central located in the facilities of the Military Police.

According to Marcelo Ponte, Axis Marketing Manager for South America, the level of security of the stadiums depends on the ability to detect, monitor and respond quickly to any actual or potential security threats. So, it is important to have a video surveillance system that permanently covers critical areas, as inputs and outputs, Lockers, Stands, Halls, Stairs, emergency exits, food and drink stalls, And, Especially, the area around the stadium.

“From the video surveillance projects that we have developed in stadiums around the world, I can say that a completely safe experience for fans is the result of the integration between public and private entities, I mean, both inside and outside stadiums. IP technology enables this integration. In addition, the cameras produce images of such high quality that they serve for the identification of both people and vehicle license plates, which can be used as evidence in case of police investigation”, comment Ponte.

This experience is not the company's first in World Cups, as Axis has already installed high-performance cameras at the Mbombela Stadium, built in South Africa for the World Cup 2010.

The World Cup has promoted various projects for airports, roads and cities that will host the sporting events that will take place. Guararapes International Airport, in Recife, invested in a display and recording system exclusively for takeoffs and landings, which covers the entire track 24 hours of the day and wirelessly transmits images.

The project was reproduced at Aracaju International Airport, Savior, Manaus, Macapá, Marabá and Viracopos, in the city of Campinas. The system allows the recording of the entire landing process, preparation and take-off, in addition to being able to control interference during flight such as the presence of objects and birds on the runway or the absorption of foreign objects through the turbines.

The CCR Group, a private infrastructure group with a strong presence in the road concession sector, has created a video surveillance system in six concessions: AutoBAn, Nova Dutra, Rhodoorte, Rio-Niteroi Bridge, Rodoanel West and ViaOeste.

The project, one of the largest in Latin America in terms of highway surveillance, Includes 800 Axis cameras that record images, they store them for three days and are made available to all staff, from operators to assistants receiving calls from users in the control center. This system stores the videos for up to five years in case of special events determined by the supervisor, and could be requested later if the Brazilian justice system deems it necessary.

In the capital of Amazonas, which will also host the World Cup, the video surveillance system installed in strategic points of Manaus has come to reduce criminal actions up to a 70% in the monitored places. 240 Axis cameras cover about two-thirds of the city and transmit images to the Integrated Security Operations Center using fiber optics.. Multiple departments use the videos, including the Fire Department, General Directorate of Traffic, Civilian and Military Police.
