Axis Communications reúne a 180 partners en su Parner Event 2013 and announces its entry into the access control market
The Iberian subsidiary of Axis Communications has held its traditional Axis Partner Event 2013, which has been attended by more than 180 sales partners who have been able to learn about the latest developments in advanced network video technology and the announcement of the company's entry into the access control market.
The annual partner conference that Axis Communications Iberia celebrates annually with its sales partners and has recently brought together more than 180 professionals, that in addition to knowing the evolution of network video technology and its latest product innovations, have verified the effectiveness of IP cameras in drills carried out for this occasion, as one of the attractions of the event.
The value of this Swedish provider's IP solutions and the commitment to its developer ecosystem, partners and the channel have once again starred in this event of the Spanish subsidiary with its sales partners, showing them the business opportunities that network video offers in all industrial sectors.
Axis Partner Event 2013 was attended by Ray Mauritsson, CEO de Axis Communications, y by Edwige Maury, regional director of Southern Europe, who have been supported by the company's local team, led by Juan Luis Brizuela, Business Development Director, Axis Communications Southern Europe; together with the sales team of the Iberian subsidiary.
Both Ray Mauritsson and Edwige Maury highlighted the company's strategic axes in their interventions before the partners.: investment in own R&D to have the latest technology in its products, “with more and more network intelligence and high image quality” and the ecosystem of integrators, consultants, app developers, network infrastructure providers and partners as a growth model in the market transition to IP technology.
One of the new features of this edition for the channel was the announcement of the company's entry into a new market, such as access control. Although at the moment it is only being started and developed in the United States, “which will act as a testing laboratory, but where projects are already being carried out -Juan Luis Brizuela clarifies to Digital AV Magazine-, We hope that in around a year large-scale commercialization can be carried out.”.
In this sense, the differential that the company provides “in a mature market, but in which we have an important gap”, Brizuela assures, is that Axis A1001 access control is a non-proprietary and open IP-based system “that allows companies to easily integrate it to configure an easy-to-manage solution, intelligent, based on open standards and scalable”.
Product renewal
The sales team of the Iberian subsidiary was in charge of presenting to partners the new products that the company will present in the market until the end of the year., among which the renewal of the Axis Q60 PTZ dome range stands out, with Q6042 models, Q6044 and Q6045, that incorporate new functionalities and improvements in their mechanics that Digital AV Magazine will soon report on.
Added to this is the new Axis Q1931 thermal camera, which now incorporates a stainless steel casing 18-10, especially indicated for installation in places with adverse atmospheric conditions, like the marine environment, and maximum performance (24×7).
Another novelty is the improvement in the basic analytical software of the company's IP cameras, which has specifically been integrated into the Axis Q1624 model.
Drills in an impact scenario
In the setting offered by Madrid's Warner Park, and specifically the area where the show 'Loca Academia de Police' takes place., Axis carried out simulations of everyday situations in which IP cameras play a primary role in the security of people and property.
With the help of its application development partners and with the installation of fixed cameras and domes in this facility, the company carried out a simulation of a person taking money from an ATM and being assaulted by a criminal.
Thanks to the Axis IP camera integrated into the ATM and the application developed by its partner Technoware, that displays the people who are at the ATM and the time they are there, generating an algorithm that produces an alert if it detects any anomaly in these aspects, In a few moments the police arrived to arrest the robber.
Another of the drills featured traffic violations at traffic light control, with a video analytics application developed by Infocom Sermar, that alerts when a driver runs a red light, goes in the opposite direction or steps on a line continues, in combination with a camera that captures the perfectly legible license plate so that the administrative sanction can be managed.
As Alberto Alonso points out, responsible for business development for banking and retail of the Iberian subsidiary, “Our goal is to offer a proactive network video surveillance solution, that responds to any incident more quickly. Our partners' development intelligence integrated with Axis technology generates complete solutions, efficient and effective”.
Channel recognition
As is traditional at this event, the Iberian subsidiary awarded its awards (also called Axis Oscars) that recognize the work of partners with the company during this year.
So, The award for Best Retail Partner went to Stanley Security, “for the project carried out at the Repsol service stations”; The recognition for the most complex installation went to MKV, “due to its installation in a very complex environment, like the Arcelor factory in Avilés, with extreme temperature conditions and high lighting”.
The award for the most active Partner of the year went to Electroredes, “company based in Córdoba with which we have carried out numerous health projects, administrations, etc.”; and the recognition for the Best traffic control application went to Sice, “a partner with whom we have carried out many projects, even outside of Spain”, just as Juan Luis Brizuela pointed out.
