Bosch improves meetings with live Full HD video

Bosch Security Systems has expanded the functionalities of the DCN wireless conference system with the inclusion of a HD dome conference camera with HD-SDI output.

Bosch Security Systems has improved its DCN conference system (DCN Next Generation and DCN Wireless) with automatic Full HD camera control. The new HD solution includes a dome camera for conferences designed for this application with HD-SDI output (Serial-Digital-Interface), resulting in crystal-clear, high-quality images. Small, compact and fanless for cooling, the camera is quieter and more discreet than standard cameras for these conference applications. Besides, software developed by Bosch fully integrates the HD camera into the DCN conference system.

Available solution

The rapid adoption of HD quality as a standard, leads those in charge of meeting rooms to introduce automatic control of HD cameras into their conference systems. The digital signals from the HD output have more applications than the previous analog signals, enabling the speaker's image on the room screens, or distributing these signals to other rooms without loss of quality.

Until now, the integration of HD cameras with conference systems required special software, which was usually developed by the integrator for each client/installation and allowed communication of a third-party HD camera with the system. The new solution introduced by Bosch frees integrators from the effort and expense of developing special software and acquiring third-party HD cameras. This solution provides a highly competitive, ready-to-use system that meets the HD conferencing needs of its clients.

Automatic camera control gives a visual dimension to the meeting that not only helps maintain focus on the topic under discussion but at the same time shows the image of who is speaking.
