Vivotek has launched the FE8172/72V, his first camera 'Fisheye'’ of 5 Megapixel, for both indoor and outdoor applications. Equipped with a CMOS sensor 5 megapixels that allows a display resolution of 1920×1920 or 1080p to 30 fps and a fisheye lens of 1,05 mm for a 180° panoramic view or 360° surround view, The Vivotek FE8172/72V camera is capable not only of eliminating blind spots, but also to provide the greatest coverage with the smallest details.

William Ku, Vivotek Brand Business Director, has featured: “This year we are launching a number of 5 Megapixel, starting with the FD8372 designed for demanding outdoor environments. The Vivotek FE8172/72V camera incorporates numerous advanced features, added to those already available in the FE8171V, the first camera 'Fisheye'’ of 3,1 Megapixel.

Indoor and outdoor cameras

The FE8172V, the outdoor model, is EN-50155 certified and is suitable for a railway application since the EN-50155 standard is used to regulate electronic equipment on rolling stock. The IP66 design, On the other hand, protects the camera against water and dust ingress. Vandal-proof IK10 range housing enables robust vandal protection. As for fe8172, the indoor model, it is designed for easy installation and therefore has a smaller dimension than the FE8172V.

According to Ku, the Vivotek FE8172/72V is designed for open spaces, such as airports, shopping malls, Parking, retail stores and offices.

Other upcoming models of 5 Megapixels to be launched in the 2012 are IP8172 and IP8372.
