Security gains importance in a new edition of the 5G Forum
Security, 5G private networks, critical mission and real use cases will focus on one of the key areas of the 5G Forum which will bring together in Seville the 12 y 13 in May experts from the sector who will analyze how advanced connectivity becomes essential infrastructure for the digital economy and society.
The 5G Forum 2026 will bring together the main operators present in Spain (Vodafone, Telefónica, Orange and Digi), consolidating the leadership of the telco ecosystem in the development of advanced connectivity. In a context where 5G is evolving from infrastructure deployment to its application in real cases, these companies will share their vision on how next-generation networks are enabling critical services, industrial environments and new digital experiences, laying the foundations for more robust connectivity, efficient and results-oriented.
Security will be one of the key focuses of the event with the participation of the National Cryptologic Center (CCN), represented by Javier Candau, together with IplusF with Miguel Ángel García-Fuentes. In this area, the current state of cyber threats, the role of the COS5G scheme and advances in European certification will be addressed, as well as the impact of regulatory frameworks such as NIS2 and the role of organizations such as ENISA in an environment where European funding drives the development of secure digital infrastructures.
In the area of technological security, companies such as Huawei, con Fernando de la Cruz; Italtel, represented by Manuel García; y Netmetrix, con Pablo Álvarez y Joel Zaragoza, they will analyze the role of technologies such as post-quantum cryptography, the continuous validation of systems and network resilience, key elements to ensure the protection of communications in increasingly complex and distributed environments.
Private 5G networks will also play a leading role with the participation of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, represented by Sergio Garcia. In this context, it will be addressed how these infrastructures allow organizations to gain autonomy, strengthen security and deploy connectivity environments adapted to their specific needs, especially in industry, logistics and corporate environments.
Validation, testing and access to technology
The validation and testing of networks will be another of the pillars of the 5G Forum 2026, with the participation of Gsertel, con Manuel Ángel Álvarez; DIHBU (Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0), represented by Belén Lanuza; and the Technological Institute of Castilla y León (ITCL), con Javier Sedano. In this area, the focus will be on the importance of testing in real environments, the validation of 5G networks and the access of SMEs to experimental infrastructures, key to accelerating technology adoption.
In the area of critical mission, where there is no margin for error, companies such as Teltronic, con Cecilia Jordán, together with Ethon Shield y SECMOTIC. In this context, the role of 5G in industrial safety will be addressed, the management of critical operations and the integration of IoT solutions in highly demanding sectors such as mining, energy or transportation.

Real cases and operational deployment
En este contexto se abordará el desarrollo de aplicaciones como la agricultura inteligente, initiatives such as 6GMadLab and the role of applied research in the evolution of the 5G and 6G ecosystem.
The 5G Forum 2026 will combine two in-person sessions on the days 12 y 13 of May at the Cartuja Auditorium in Sevilla TechPark, with two virtual sessions on the days 14 y 15 of may, bringing together the main actors of the digital ecosystem around the challenges and opportunities of 5G.
