An end-to-end IDIS video solution answers performance challenges, quality and affordability hampering policing in Bristol city center. KIS Fire&Security completed the update in Temple Quay y Glass Wharf to address the growing list of issues including degraded image quality, unreliable data transmission and storage and poor usability.

Temple Quay and Glass Wharf are part of the Bristol Temple Quarter business area, which houses hundreds of companies, government and serviced offices and co-working spaces, as well as bars, restaurants and residential properties.

The venue's original video system was almost twenty years old and increasingly unreliable. Underground wiring and equipment were prone to flooding and cameras produced images of increasingly poor quality.. The problems were compounded by an unwieldy VMS operating system.

“The prospect of a complete system upgrade seemed daunting because it would require a complete replacement of the core infrastructure, cameras, grabadoras, etc. and a new VMS management system. But we were able to satisfy the furniture services firm Avison Young powered by IDIS, showing them an important public space system we had recently completed for the Bristol Zoo”, explains Rob Morgan, director of KIS.

La nueva solución, managed by IDIS Center VMS includes PTZ cameras 8 NDAA-compliant MP that displays quality images at up to 31x zoom; cámaras domo IR de 5 Vandal-resistant MP; 4K recorders 8 UHD display compatible channels; specialized network operator keyboard; in addition to assemblies, POE switches and other network accessories.

KIS completed the upgrade in less than four months, with quick installation, backed by technology DirectIP plug-and-play de IDIS, ensuring instant and seamless functionality of all devices. The system is also easier to use and now gives the security team complete coverage of the area, including full visibility throughout (and through) of a waterway that runs through the site.

“With IDIS, cross-device functionality means we can be more confident about completion times, even for large public space projects such as Temple Quay and Glass Wharf”, Rob Morgan commented. “The system also comes with extended warranties and failover protection against data loss in the event of network instability; For surveillance of public areas this type of reliability is essential”.
