Dallmeier Device Manager

The new Dallmeier Device Manager tool facilitates the encryption of the connections of a video security system with TLS certification.

Dallmeier has presented a tool for the configuration and management of its IP video systems, in addition to allowing its encryption with certificates TLS (Transport Layer Security).

Encrypting the connections of a video security system is a complex task that requires a lot of time and expert technical knowledge, particularly in the case of extensive network environments and systems. The new tool Dallmeier Device Manager (DDM) makes setting up security much easier.

In addition to all device management tasks, DDM allows you to encrypt a video system of this manufacturer with TLS certificates. In this way, system administrators can equip Dallmeier devices with the required certificates from a single central user interface. Encryption is even possible for access by mobile devices.

DDM users increase the protection of their video systems and can meet their individual security requirements. The manufacturer offers on its website a configuration document that explains how to implement TLS encryption in six simple steps.

Dallmeier Device Manager has a dashboard that shows the most important data in terms of hardware status and security, license grants and software version.
To provide this device data, the software automatically scans the entire video network over TCP/UDP for single-sensor cameras, multifocal sensor cameras and recording systems. Scanning by Onvif-compatible devices is also possible.

In addition, through the DDM you can change numerous settings and IP addresses of the connected Dallmeier devices, open configuration dialogs directly and create detailed reports for optimization and maintenance.

To improve system security, when they start the software for the first time, system users are instructed to assign strong passwords for access to each of the devices. Additionally, the system informs users about software updates and software maintenance licenses that are about to expire. Devices with an identical version of software can be updated together in a single step.

As soon as the connected devices are registered in the DDM, can be transferred along with the corresponding configuration files, to video management software SeMSy Compact by Dallmeier, using multiple selection and drag-and-drop functions. The cameras are ready for use immediately after this operation without the need to log in to the VMS.
