Cybersecurity threats are shown in a documentary produced by Norton

“En busca de la ciudad más peligrosa en Internet” es el documental que ha presentado Norton by Symantec y producido el director de cine independiente Sean Dunne para ofrecer una visión de la cultura y filosofía hacker, así como los factores socioeconómicos que fomentan la actual economía de información sumergida en Rumanía.

Norton se embarcó en la producción del documental “La Ciudad más peligrosa” como un medio para poner caras reales al problema del cibercrimen y desvelar la realidad del elemento humano tras este paisaje amenazador.

Set in post-communist Romania, in the city of Râmnicu Vâlcea, known as Hackerville, the documentary, which can be watched online, shows a bold view of the people who create and fight against one of the largest hacker communities in the world.

From scams to phishing and master hacking, there is a strong presence of sophisticated hackers in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania. Taking into account the range of motivations that exist there, the documentary team chose Romania and the filming crew set out to explore what allows cybercrime both to manifest and to persist.

In interviews conducted with hackers and convicted fraudsters who endangered personal and government accounts, among them are NASA, the European Space Agency, George Bush, Hillary Clinton and the British Royal Navy, they reveal their methods, motivations and the reasons why they chose to dedicate themselves to a life of cybercrime.
