A few days before the end of the World Cup Brazil 2014, the end of which will be held between the German-Argentina national team 13 July at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium, Taiwanese security provider Vivotek has made public the work that its High Speed Network Dome Supreme SD8363 has done for the Government of Brazil, specifically for Special Operations Command (Copesp) to ensure the safety of athletes and fans in stadiums.

This Full HD network camera has been integrated with Copesp's smart military platform to control movement in and out of stadiums during the FIFA World Cup 2014 with a positive result so far, as Claudio Freitas says, Colonel of Copesp: "we are holding a global event that millions of people are watching and attended by thousands of people to see it, to which we must add the deployment of people from each of the football teams participating in the World Cup in Brazil, so real-time security control was crucial for Copesp's military. Vivotek cameras deployed in stadiums and our military platform have seamlessly interoperated to ensure everyone can enjoy football matches".

Real-time integration

The three hundred units of this Vivotek model for this project, awarded by the Brazilian army to Equipe Engenharia, were supplied by your local distributor Alca Red. Integrating these devices with the Copesp platform has been easy, and military operators have had no problems in their handling (using a joystick), movements and monitoring of all suspicious elements during the holding of matches from the stadium control room, as well as in mobile military units distributed in the accesses to the compounds.

Vivotek platform Brazil 2014In this sense, the Supreme SD8363E has provided Copesp military with advanced day/night network video surveillance features, 1,080p Full HD resolution with image quality up to 30 H.264 fps in real time, MPEG-4 and MJPEG; Mobile IR cutting filter (360or horizontally and 220o incline) with infrared lighting up to 15 meters away for accurate identification of people and objects in large spaces, added to its IP66 and Nema-4X protection to withstand difficult weather conditions and its vandal-free housing.

For Steve Ma, Vivotek executive vice president, highlighted the functionality of this IP dome for "large open spaces", like football stadiums, which are potential targets of terrorist attacks. It is crucial to have a real-time security system to have full control, perfectly protecting players and also the audience".
