Genetec SMC: smart door controller to protect buildings

The Canadian multinational Genetec now has Synergis Master Controller available on the market (SMC), a smart door controller designed to protect the facilities and buildings of any organization.

Synergis Master Controler is the new component of Synergis, access control solution Genetec to monitor access events and alarms in real time, Developed to meet the demand of customers who want open access control solutions not subject to intellectual property rights. Thanks to this driver, Users can modernize their security operations and migrate to an IP network-based access control solution, without the need to invest again in network infrastructure, equipment or wiring.

One of its key advantages is that if used from Security Center, Genetec's unified security platform, SMC becomes a catalyst for enterprises to evolve to unified security system management. This way, can centralize transparently from IP video surveillance, to access control or license plate recognition, in addition to monitoring any intrusion attempts on a single unified platform.

To help customers speed up installation time, reduce costs and ensure that your security investment will be protected for the long term, SMC offers native support for non-copyrighted open architecture access control hardware from Mercury Security and HID Global. Specifically, SMC supports 32 downstream channel modules that connect up to 64 lectores, to which is added its ability to monitor hundreds of zones and alarm points. Both Mercury modules (MR52, MR50, MR16IN and MR16OUT), like HID (VertX V100, V200 y V300) can be supported in the same SMC.

With these advanced security features, SMC users can implement higher levels of security to protect their employees, visitors, and business assets, so that communications between this controller and Synergis software are authenticated and encrypted, so that it is possible to restrict or invalidate physical entry to an area or the entire building quickly instantly or even activate a total emergency if necessary.

SMC is a device for IP networks and has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing much of the existing access control infrastructure to be reused (lectores, credentials, Compatible interface modules and wiring) to migrate towards a total and unified access control system in IP networks.
