bcSistemas adds functionalities to its Argos system to protect the historic center of cities

The IT professional services integrator, bcSistemas, has announced that its Argos system, a modular solution for traffic control in municipal environments that addresses different scenarios, incorporates new functionalities that prevent the deterioration of the most visited areas of the historic city center.

bcSistemas has incorporated new functionalities in its system for comprehensive traffic control, Argos, in order to protect the historic center of Spanish cities, promoting tourism and the region's wealth. The widespread use of automatic bollards in pedestrian areas of historic city centers negatively affects both the landscape and the residents' peace. Besides, foster vandalism, vehicle accidents and pollution. These are the reasons why bcSistemas has incorporated a new functionality into its Argos system for traffic control in municipal environments: the comprehensive management of the historic center.

This new functionality of Argos allows to keep under control the pedestrian areas of the historic center through fixed cameras, Mobile or installed on municipal police vehicles. The interconnection of the cameras can be carried out through 3G solutions, greatly facilitating their implementation anywhere in the municipality. In this way, both tourists and residents can enjoy the oldest areas without worrying about traffic or possible vandalism.

The Argos system developed by bcSistemas responds to different traffic control scenarios, such as access control to pedestrian areas, replacing the traditional 'bollards', the control of temporarily restricted access areas, como por ejemplo “mercadillos”, foto rojo (semáforos) y estacionamientos indebidos, inter alia. Asimismo este sistema se encarga también de la gestión de las sanciones asociadas a las infracciones o de su integración con sistemas centralizados como los que ofrecen ciertas Diputaciones.
