The Government Delegate in Madrid, Cristina Cifuentes, has inaugurated SICUR 2012, International Security Hall, where the comprehensive security sector gathers, creating a complete showcase of developments in protection and prevention in its widest dimension.

Between the days 28 from February to 2 March, the pavilions 4, 6, 8 y 10 of the Feria de Madrid gather the broadest representation of the security sector on the occasion of the celebration of SICUR 2012, the major international event that, every two years, shows the progress of a distinctly innovative industry with a complete offer of products, teams, services and solutions in prevention and protection, especially highlighted by technological development.

Organized by IFEMA, SICUR has established itself as one of the most outstanding professional events on the European calendar and the benchmark showcase of the comprehensive security sector. En esta edición, the fair presents the offer of 1.233 companies -524 direct participation- who will present their innovations at this exhibition that will show a comprehensive perspective of the latest products, solutions, and services in Public and Private Security, Emergencies, Fire Safety and Occupational Safety. An extensive content that, as usual, is organized in three thematic areas with their own identity: SICUR Prolabor, Fire Safety, and Security.

On the international front, the direct participation of companies in SICUR means the 35% with the presence of companies from 21 countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Korea, China, Denmark, France, Italia, Netherlands, Polonia, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, Rusia, Rep. Moldova, Rep. Czech, Suecia, Suiza, Taiwán y Turquía.

SICUR cuenta, besides, con el respaldo de todas las Asociaciones Sectoriales, que en representación de oferta y demanda de las tres áreas contempladas en la feria, forman parte de su Comité Organizador. Entre ellas AES, Asociación Española de Empresas de Seguridad, que ostenta la Presidencia, así como APROSER, Asociación de Compañías Privadas de Servicios de seguridad; ASEPAL, Asociación de Empresas de Equipos de Protección Laboral, y Tecnifuego/AESPI, Asociación Española de Sociedades de Protección Contra Incendios, que ocupan las tres vicepresidencias del Comité. Besides, como en su pasada edición, SICUR ha apostado por impulsar el encuentro de la seguridad pública y privada, reanudando la colaboración y presencia en el Comité Organizador de la Guardia Civil, the National Police and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).

SICUR Prolabor, equipment quality and certification

In the pavilions 4 y 6 there is the SICUR Prolabor area where the offer aimed at ensuring workplace safety is shown, with the latest proposals in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), risk prevention and occupational health measures, as well as the lines of research carried out by companies in the sector to improve the quality of these elements, with special attention to certification.

Firefighting Sector, passive and active protection in fire fighting

Another of the main areas of the fair is located in the pavilion 8 que recoge las novedades en protección activa y pasiva en la lucha contra el fuego y la prevención de incendios, el mundo de los bomberos y las emergencias. Este espacio mostrará al profesional las herramientas desarrolladas para combatir el incendio y sus consecuencias, así como los avances tecnológicos que mejoran la calidad y eficacia de los equipos. Besides, dedica un espacio exterior a la presentación de los vehículos contra incendios.

Security, la tecnología al servicio de la seguridad

En el sector de Security concurren seguridad pública y seguridad privada subrayando la complementariedad de ambos servicios. Una oferta fuertemente marcada por la innovación que dará a conocer, en el pabellón 10, las novedades en equipos para la seguridad física, intrusion and access control, surveillance, private security solutions, equipment for public security forces, security technology, technology for information security and network security solutions.

SICUR Forum, the space for debate and analysis

Parallel to the commercial exhibition and within the framework of SICUR Forum, an interesting program of conferences and technical sessions will be developed, organized in collaboration with the sectoral Associations that are part of the SICUR Organizing Committee and in which various companies and other key security entities will also participate. An informative space, aimed at sharing information, knowledge and experiences that, This year as a novelty, It will take place in the fair pavilions. Foro SICUR will address a broad range of topics around fire safety installations and their maintenance, Regulations and safety certification; Forest fires; Occupational risk protection, And it will dedicate some days to different security issues aimed at financial entities and will host the 2nd International Meeting – OSMOSIS Project.

The conferences focused on the Fire Safety sector are organized by the Spanish Association of Fire Protection Societies Tecnifuego-AESPI, And they will cover different topics around the current situation of passive fire protection, y Present and future of fire protection and alarm in common areas of residential buildings. Tecnifuego-AESPI also moderates another of the blocks on Regulations + Certifications coordinated by AES, in relation to the fire protection sector and in which the UNE Standard will be discussed 23500, Fire water supply systems; UNE Standard 23007/14. Fire detection and alarm systems; Technical Guides: Aspirating smoke detection systems; The certificates required in administrative processing, and Voluntary certification systems. Besides, SICUR Forum will dedicate a day to Forest Fire Defense, in which the different means and techniques for fire extinguishing in this area will be examined.

Activities related to Security, will begin coinciding with the opening of SICUR with the celebration of the 2nd International Meeting – OSMOSIS Project, a Technology Transfer Day in Security, organized by the Madrid+d Foundation. Besides, the Spanish Association of Security Companies – AES- coordinates a security monograph aimed at financial entities in which topics such as the Convergence of Security in Companies will be addressed, the opinion of the Administration and of Companies, and the day New Threats, with the development of a conference on Hacktivism and another on Organized Crime. AES also organizes a block focused on Regulations + Certifications in which Product and Security Systems Certification will be discussed, Guidelines for identifying certificates according to the requirements of the Ministerial Orders; European Quality Mark Certalarm; Technical Specification for Private Security Services, and the European Standard for Airport Services.

Regarding Occupational Safety, a session will be held on the economic and social impact of non-prevention. Epis certified according to the new directive, organized by the Association of Personal Protective Equipment Companies, ASEPAL. It will discuss the economic impact and perception of occupational risk prevention in the company, as well as the Changes in PPE Certification.

Gallery of New Products, the forefront of security

In order to promote research and innovation development, en productos y servicios, The SICUR offer is completed with an interesting selection of equipment, solutions and cutting-edge services gathered in the New Products Gallery. A space that constitutes another focal point of professional attention at the fair and that, on this occasion, highlights 31 products of which 8 belong to the Fire Protection Sector; 14 to Occupational Safety – SICUR Prolabor- , y 9 to Security. The New Products Gallery is especially highlighted by the applications of available technologies in the field of security, as well as by specific technological developments. Besides, it will show different proposals focused on energy saving and environmental respect, as well as innovative teams and garments that incorporate the latest in design and materials for user protection.

International Meeting on Technology Transfer in Security

One of the novelties of this edition is the holding of the International Meeting on Technology Transfer in Security, organized by the madri+d foundation, within the framework of activities linked to its participation in the largest European network for technology transfer, Enterprise Europe Network. The objective of this forum is to facilitate communication and meetings between companies, research centers and universities in the security sector at an international level. La jornada permitirá detectar potenciales oportunidades de colaboración y negocio mediante el desarrollo de entrevistas bilaterales previamente programadas.
