More than six hundred video surveillance cameras will protect Pope Francis on his trip to Latin America

The routes that Pope Francis will take during his visit to Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay are practically armored with physical and technological security operations to guarantee their protection and that of the almost two million faithful who will attend each of the religious events that will be celebrated..
On his second visit to Latin America, that starts next 5 July, The Pontiff will have contact with indigenous and African American populations, in what has been defined as a trip marked by the “multiethnic and multicultural spirit” of said countries, with a variety of indigenous populations, african american, as well as languages, like quechua, Guarani and Aymara.
Structured in two stages, The Pope will visit Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; La Paz and Santa Cruz in Bolivia, and will end in Asunción and Caacupé in Paraguay. The authorities in charge of ensuring his safety and that of his entourage have already deployed new video surveillance devices for this occasion., which are added to those that these cities usually have, in addition to special police and army groups, helicopters, etc.
Specifically, in Ecuador they have been installed for this occasion 70 devices in Quito and 45 in Guayaquil, with constant monitoring and close to a thousand professionals dedicated to covering and resolving any incident during these days.
Bolivia adds to its video surveillance forces, more than 150 cameras that have been distributed in strategic areas through which the Pope will pass or hold events, in addition to another hundred video surveillance devices arranged in the house where you will spend the night, tour from the airport and to the areas where he will celebrate a homily in Christ the Redeemer, which will be the main event of the visit in this country. The Paraguayan authorities have followed this same line, with the deployment of about 130 security cameras and reinforcement in the control and monitoring centers of the video surveillance device.
