The lines 1 And 2 of the metropolitan railway of Malaga, inaugurated on 30 July, that cover the section that runs from the Palacio de los Deportes station to El Perchel and from this point to the Andalucía Tech stop, It has in its seventeen stations with more than four hundred network video surveillance cameras, connected to the Metro Control Center, located in Los Asperones, and with access to the National Police to view the images, as already reported Digital Security Magazine.

To these are added twelve more devices, dome type, for each of the trains (two on the front, four on the sides and six inside the train itself) that add 168 more network video surveillance systems for the fourteen trains currently in service.

The video surveillance system selected for Metro de Málaga is structured in three types of IP technology cameras with different resolutions: of 2,1 megapixels for public areas and access to stations; of 1,3 Outdoor megapixels focusing on elevators, and 0,5 megapixels for provider restricted access zones Pelco by Schneider Electric.

Specifically,, and according to the data offered by the Malaga metropolitan, the Puerta Blanca station will have a total of 27 Cameras, of which 18 shall be placed in public areas and at the entrances to the station, six in the areas of restricted access to the public and three inside the elevators.

Pelco Metro de MalagaThe security system, active 24×7 in the stations and during the hours of service to the public of the metropolitan, has been tested before its inauguration to check the effectiveness of CCTV and eliminate 'blind spots', both platform and lobby level, which is monitored from the Central Control Post.

System operation distinguishes between recording and viewing, functions that are performed independently and from differentiated positions. Like this, each of the stations has a recording to store the images for thirty days if no prior judicial request is received.

All recorders are connected to each other and to the Central Control Post from where the service is managed in real time, so that if any fail, images continue to be automatically recorded at any of the adjoining stations.

Each station also has an image display station, to facilitate the work and flexibility of the Security Forces if an incident occurs, and access them from anywhere in the Metro network.

The opening of the Lines 1 And 2 Malaga Metro, from Teatinos and the Palacio de los Deportes to the El Perchel-María Zambrano interchange, suppose the 81% of the layout of the metropolitan, since the rest is expected to finish its construction in 2017 and you will reach the city center, as Manuel García Peláez has pointed out, delegate of Development and Housing in Malaga: "We have inaugurated the Lines 1 And 2, but we aspire to more: we want a complete network that captures more than 20 millions of travellers a year and contribute to implementing a sustainable mobility model throughout the city".

In this sense, the Governing Council has already authorised the appropriation necessary for the completion of the three outstanding sections, equivalent to 19% of the planned network, and that correspond to the sections between Renfe and Guadalmedina (in works), as well as the continuation from this point to Atarazanas and the Civil Hospital, which will allow access to the historic center, commercial and tourist of Malaga.
