The new generation of Starlight megapixel cameras from Bosch Security Systems provide high performance in extreme light conditions and incorporate CBIT technology to improve image usage.

Bosch Security Starlight

The Starlight HD range of Bosch Security Systems are specially designed for high performance in extreme low light conditions, composed of the new generation of megapixel cameras Dinion Starlight HD 720p and Flexidome Starlight HD 720p RD.

These devices represent "an evolution in cameras with sensitivity to light, and display color images where others can only show black and white; and black and white where others cannot display images in any way", based on company data.

With its high sensitivity in both color modes (0.017 Lux) and monochrome (0.0057 Lux), these HD cameras work with minimal ambient light and present clear images in a multitude of applications, even when poor lighting is the main challenge. The frame rate of 60 fps helps capture fast-moving objects in applications like traffic and casinos.

Starlight cameras incorporate content-based imaging technology (CBIT). This Bosch innovation intelligently combines sensor information, your control electronics, the encoder and intelligent video analysis (Vat) to dynamically optimize the image for each scene.

Bosch Starlight cameras with CBIT function have two special functions: Intelligent Auto Exposure (iAE), to ensure the optimal image of important objects, and iDNR to optimize image usage by intelligently optimizing the detail-to-bandwidth ratio.

By using this smart noise reduction technology (iDNR), the image is clearly improved and storage requirements are significantly reduced. 720p HD Starlight cameras require up to a 30% less bandwidth than other SD cameras and 720p.

The Flexidome RD model is designed for demanding outdoor applications. The sturdy cast aluminium dome housing can withstand the equivalent of 55 Kg. of force and extended operating temperature range allows its use in any application, to which is added a wide range of factory-installed lenses, covering from 1.8 mm from ultra wide angle to 40 mm telephoto lens. By applying Bosch dynamic transcoding technology, HD quality images can be played from anywhere with internet access, even when the available bandwidth is only 128 kBit/s.

For Constant Rutten, product manager of Bosch Security Systems Eindhoven, "The introduction of these high-performance HD cameras at a price level similar to SD cameras highlights our commitment to continuous improvement and accelerates the transition from analog to IP.".
