The manufacturer of open modular solutions for the telecommunications market, Kontron, has released the ARM KTT30/mITX-based motherboard, incorporating a Tegra superprocessor 3 NVIDIA and a Cortex-A9 Quad-Core processor card 900 Mhz, that increases multimedia performance and reduces energy consumption.

As part of its "strategic entry" into ARM processor technology, Kontron has unveiled its first ARM-based motherboard with Mini-ITX format (170 X 170 Mm). The Kontron KTT30/mITX is equipped with a Tegra superprocessor 3 NVIDIA and combines excellent multimedia performance with low power consumption. The integration of an ultra-low-power GeForce12-core GPU allows the ARM Cortex-A9 Quad-Core processor card to 900 MHz delivers great 3D graphics performance, enable resolutions of 2048 X 1536 pixels and "gas" less than 7 W.

These features help the board meet the requirements of a large number of embedded graphics and video applications, like 'thinclients', PC panel and Mini-Box PC in vertical markets. And, with an availability of at least seven years, also exceeds the needs of healthcare environments, rail traffic and public safety.

Thanks to the standardized Mini-ITX format, the Kontron KTT30/mITX paves the way for OEMs to integrate innovative ARM technology, both 'off-the-shelf' and embedded applications. OEMs not only benefit from a wide range of Mini-ITX peripherals, but also custom design services and software support for Android and Linux with the aim of minimizing development time and costs.

Multipurpose device

In addition to the numerous USB and RS232 interfaces, audio and video and miniPCIe extension slot, the Kontron KTT30/mITX board offers a large selection of other interfaces to suit any project.

Extremely low power consumption is essential in small passive ventilation solutions and reduces bill of materials and development effort while simplifying implementation.

Its compact format (with a height of only 15.2 Mm)it is also ideal in extremely flat systems, as they can be mounted directly on the back of monitors and video panels (For example, for HMI or digital signage players). In addition, card supports Full-HD video (1080Q) for playback and recording tasks in video conferencing systems and security applications.

Like the rest of Kontron's embedded motherboards, the new model is presented with long-term availability (at least, seven years) and high stability and reliability as a result of high-quality distribution and component selection. Features are completed with RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port and analog audio I/O.
