Based on its reputation as a manufacturer of imaging technology, Panasonic has taken to the security fair ASIS 2012, held at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Philadelphia (Us.), its new 360° panoramic dome cameras 3 Megapixel, available in two models: WV-SF438, for interiors, and WV-SW458, outdoor.

blankPanasonic has presented at ASIS 2012 its new 360° panoramic dome cameras 3 Megapixel. Available for both indoor configurations (WV-SF438) as outdoor with IP66 rating resistant to weathering and vandalism (WV-SW458), the new cameras feature a low-profile design of 360 ° and virtual pan/tilt/zoom operation that does not require an engine, allowing the camera to be placed in places where conventional PTZ cameras do not fit.

The main functionalities of the new cameras include full resolution of 1080p to 30 fps with Panasonic's exclusive Mega Super Dynamic processing and distortion correction to minimize optical distortion and ensure highly accurate images, and multiple transmission modes for versatile control of wide areas. Other smart features include face detection, the masking of privacy zones and the possibility of being controlled directly from a smartphone.

Greg Peratt, Sales Director of Video Solutions Integration at Panasonic, Explained: “Our new 360° megapixel panoramic cameras provide a lower total cost of ownership (Tco) with a higher return on investment (Roi), as a result of its outstanding coverage capabilities, performance and functionality. The new i-PRO SmartHD 360° panoramic dome cameras 3 Megapixels set a new benchmark for megapixel images by combining 1080p HD resolution with a unique combination of Panasonic's imaging technologies to deliver unparalleled versatility at an attractive price.”.

Bandwidth reduction

The new i-PRO SmartHD 360° panoramic dome cameras 3 Megapixels incorporate high-profile H.264 compression technology to minimize transmission requirements and recording bandwidth. Up to a maximum reduction of 50 percent of network bandwidth is additionally achieved through Panasonic's proprietary UniPhier System LSI platform. A maximum H.264 bitrate per client and full bitrate control provide flexible network management, and frame rate priority mode adjusts the bit rate and compression ratio to ensure a specified speed. Multiple H.264 signals (high profile) and JPEG signals ensure simultaneous real-time monitoring and high-resolution recording.

For greater versatility of applications, the new i-PRO SmartHD 360° panoramic dome cameras 3 Megapixels offer five transmission modes: Wall Panorama, Double Panorama, , Quad PTZ, Single PTZ and Quad Streams (H.264/VGA). Two areas of VIQS (Variable image quality in the specified area) allow areas of an image to be encoded at a lower resolution to save bandwidth, maintaining maximum detail in critical areas.

Additional performance features include Mega Super Dynamic and Adaptive Black Stretch technologies (Abs) from Panasonic that offer a 128x wider dynamic range compared to conventional cameras, 3D-DNR digital noise reduction; Day/Night operation, video motion detection (VMD), with four programmable detection zones , sensitivity levels of 15 detection steps and sizes of 10 steps; Fisheye lens control to intuitively detect intelligible display operation, one SDXC/SDHC/SD memory card slot for H.264/JPEG manual recording, alarm recording and/or backup in case of network failure (JPEG), plus duplex two-way audio that enables interactive communication between the camera and the tracking website.

As an addition to its installation flexibility, the i-PRO SmartHD 360° panoramic dome 3 indoor (WV-SF438) and outdoor IP66 (WV-SW458) it is also available with an M12 connector instead of the standard RJ-45 connector.
