QNAP Security has released VioStor NVR firmware V3.6.0, that improves compatibility with network cameras including spherical fisheye correction and adding QNAP Surveillance Client for Mac.

To provide professional NVR solutions, QNAP VioStor NVR supports more than 1.400 IP cameras with improved multi-sequence transmission and new fisheye spherical correction features. Added compatibility of the fisheye spherical correction feature, available for ACTi KCM-3911 fisheye camera and Vivotek FE8171V fisheye camera, help the administration of practical surveillance, allowing administrators to see the monitoring area in a clearer way. Additionally, function as the PTZ control in specific spherical correction mode, available for Vivotek FE8171V camera in web interface and local display monitoring.

QNAP Surveillance Client for Mac, with an easy-to-use surveillance interface, allows Mac users to easily run live views and play back tasks. Andrew Yu, QNAP Security Product Manager, has targeted: "We have been working on inter-platform surveillance management to provide users with a better experience when running different operating systems. QNAP Surveillance Client's offer for Mac, clearly shows our attention to Mac users. From now on, in addition to android mobile/tablet devices, iOS mobile devices, widescreen VGA monitor or local HD tv, and Windows PC, Mac can also work with QNAP VioStor NVR solutions".

In VioStor firmware V3.6.0, several improvements have been included such as improved system reliability for long recordings and supports hard drive warning alert, which provides a pop-up reminder about disk uptime when the value reaches pre-defined times, keeping administrators well-informed effectively of the state of the hard drive before it completely fails.

VioStor standalone NVRs offer remote monitoring from multiple servers, admitting maximum 128 video channels. Embedded NVR provided various network video features, such as Intelligent Video Analysis (Vat), advanced event and watermark management. Security administrators can get useful visual aids with detailed E-maps on the monitoring page to improve management efficiency, along with receiving real-time reports via text messages and emails.
