Plustek, company specialized in communication and image solutions, features a new multi-channel video encoder, the VS 540i, that allows you to work simultaneously with four analog cameras and convert analog signals into digital transfers to send them over IP networks.

blankThe Taiwanese firm Plustek has introduced its new dual video transfer server, VS 540i, which allows you to work simultaneously with four analog cameras and is designed for easy migration of existing analog camera applications. The new encoder features an internal socket for SD card to record motion detection in video more effectively, and TV output function.

Its wide compatibility allows it to support a wide variety of analog video cameras and convert analog signals into digital transfers to be sent over IP networks to be viewed and recorded on network computers. It is based on Linux, contains no fan and the mentioned socket allows users to have direct access to their most relevant recorded events. Those with a high need for storage, can add a 2.5" hard drive.

The VS 540i also integrates the RS-485 Serial connector that enables PTZ function in analog cameras and thus, set up three motion areas to focus on multiple lenses and record and play back at a resolution of 240 Fps (NTSC)/220 Fps (PAL) to D1.

Jack Chuang, Plustek Product Manager, "With this VS 540i we are expanding our great image processing technology from scanners to IP and analog surveillance.. Our company already has a complete product line of 4 To 12 VMS management channels and tools for 128 channels for large enterprise applications, SOHO and retailers. Now with this video encoder, we offer a technology to successfully convert analogue systems into more flexible solutions so that they can be connected more efficiently and easily to nDVR applications.".
